Congratulations to Katelyn Davenport from Smith County High School and Katherine Foster from Allen County Scottsville High School.  They are the winners of this year’s contest.

Every summer, the FRS (Foundation for Rural Service) Youth Tour brings together high school students from across rural America to visit our nation’s capital and learn about rural telecommunications. The tour provides a forum for teens to meet and interact with their peers from other rural communities as well as key legislative, regulatory and government figures.

NCTC sponsors 2 students in our service area to attend each year. They are accompanied by an NCTC employee.

To qualify:

Students must be a high school student ages 16 or 17 at the time of the Youth Tour.  FRS will not accept any student age 18 or over.  Must have a 3.25 GPA or higher as of January 1, 2019.  Must be in NCTC service district.
