Windows Live Mail Setup for IMAP

  1. Windows/Mac

    Open Windows Live Mail. On Windows Live Mail toolbar, click File (1), then go to Options (2), and click Email accounts (3).

  2. Now click on Add
  3. Select Email Account, then click Next
  4. Under Logon Information:
    1. In the Email address box, enter your full email address.
    2. In the Password box, enter your email password. If you want Windows Live Mail to remember your password, make sure the check box next to Remember this password is selected.
    3. In the Display name box put your name
    4. Click Manually configure server settings, and then click Next.
  5. Provide the following information on the Configure server settings page.
    1. Under Server Type, select IMAP.
    2. In the Incoming mail server box, enter the IMAP server name:
      1. IMAP: mail.nctc.com                Port: 993
      2. Do NOT click Requires a secure connection (SSL) (Remove)
      3. DO select Requires Authentication
      4. Under Authenticate Using, select Clear text
    3. In the Outgoing server information
      1. The Server Address is mail.nctc.com  Port 465
      2. Again, as mentioned above, DO select Requires Authentication
  6. In the Logon user name box, enter your Full Email Address:  i.e. yourusername@nctc.com
  7. Click Next
  8. On the Your email account was added page, click Finish.
  9. On the Account Settings page, click Close.
